Regional development forum held in Ulaanbaatar
The first nationwide forum on regional development, “Regional Development of Mongolia and Further Goals” was held in Ulaanbaatar in recent days.
The heads of the Civil Representatives Assemblies of all 21 aimags and the nine districts of Ulaanbaatar, as well as all aimag governors and other officials attended the forum.
The head of the National Committee of Regional Development, Deputy Prime Minister M.Enkhbold, opened the forum with a speech. The forum included discussions on topics such as “Results of Development Policy and Future Issues,” “Monitoring and Report of Implementation of Development Programs in Western and Khangai Regions,” and “Regional Development Policy and Planning Outline.”
Officials discussed planned works and heard delegates’ opinions and requests. At the end of the forum, officials agreed to focus on the suggestions of participants in a work plan. For example, there were suggestions to invest in infrastructure in local settlements and to give regions more say in development plans.
