MPs demanding PM’s resignation to complain to Constitutional Court
The nine MPs who have demanded the resignation of Prime Minister S.Batbold are promising to continue their fight. They said that the standing committees should discuss issues submitted by MPs, and believe the committees have violated the law.
For example, they pointed to the head of the Standing Committee on State Structure, J.Sukhbaatar, who has said there is no legal basis for the prime minister to resign and dissolve the Government.
MP N.Batbayar, one of the nine MPs, said, by law, the standing committees and Parliament should discuss the issue of the prime minister’s resignation, but they have violated the law.
“Parliament is an organization that makes laws and monitors enforcement of legislation,” he said. “But Parliament violates the laws itself.”
He added that the MPs will complain to the Constitutional Court after studying provisions related to the state’s duty to hear MPs’ opinions of laws concerning Parliament, Government and the Constitution.
