Mongolia Clinch Silver and 4 Bronze Medals in Asian Winter Games

Mongolia ranked the fifth place with one silver and four bronze medals in the 7th Asian Winter Games which took place in Astana-Almaty, Kazakhstan from January 30 until February 6, 2011.

In particular, the silver medal was taken by Mongolian bandy team when they won Kyrgyzstan’s team by a score of 17-2.

Mongolian team was defeated by Kazakhstan’s team in gold medal’s match by a score of 16-2.

As we mentioned, B.Gerelt-Od grabbed the bronze medal in men’s ski orienteering sprint event at the Asian Winter Games on January 31, 2011.

After three days, Gerelt-Od claimed the bronze medal in men’s ski orienteering long distance event.
Mikhail Sorokin and Alexey Nemtsev both from Kazakhstan took gold and silver medals in that event.

Mongolia also won other bronze medals in men and women’s ski orienteering relay events.

Kazakhstan and Iran took gold and silver medals in men’s relay event.

Kazakhstan and South Korea received the gold and silver medals in women’s relay event.
Kazakhstan took first place with 32 gold, 21 silver and 17 bronze medals in overall title and followed by Japan (13 gold, 24 silver and 17 bronze medals) and South Korea (13 gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze medals) in the Asian Winter Games 2011.
