Thai PM To Attend Ministerial Conference Of Community Of Democracy In Mongolia

BANGKOK, April 26 (Bernama) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra will attend the 7th Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracy in Mongolia from April 27 to 29, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.

Rattikul Chansuriya, deputy director-general of Department of International Economic Affairs from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said Yingluck was invited to deliver a speech at the Ministerial Conference.

Rattikul said the prime minister's will emphasise on the simultaneous development of people and economies, promotion of women's roles, and education on democracy and justice in her speech.

The premier will also hold bilateral talks with her Mongolian counterpart to enhance relations and to boost trade and investment between the two countries, as well as discuss Thailand's plan to import raw materials from Mongolia.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) is expected to be signed between the Thai and Mongolian governments on mechanisms for bilateral cooperation.

An MoU on scientific and technological cooperation between Thai and Mongolian private sectors and between Thai Ministry of Science and Technology and Mongolia's Education and Science Ministry will also be signed.

Some 29 business operators from various sectors including banks, mineral, energy, agricultural, automobile and parts will accompany Yingluck on her trip.

They will explore business opportunities and attend a business matching session in Mongolia.
