General Meeting of the 7th Ministerial Conference continues
The 7th Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracies (CD) continues on its third day in Ulaanbaatar today, April 29th.
This morning 104 different countries gathered for a group photo on Sukhbaatar`s square at 08:15 am then headed to the Grand Hall at the Government House for the General meeting of the 7th Ministerial conference of the Community of Democracies. At the General meeting almost 800 representatives are present.
The Foreign Affairs Minister of Mongolia, L.Bold will chair the meeting making opening which will be followed by a number of keynote speeches. Speeches will be made by the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj, the Prime Minister of Thailand, Yingluck Sinawatra, the First Vice President of Costa Rica, Alfio Piva, the Vice President of Nigeria, Namadi Sambo, the Vice President of the European Commission Ms. Catherine Ashton, Burma`s pro-democracy leader and Nobel Peace laureate, Aung San Suu Kyi, the youngest Noble Peace Laureate, Yemeni activist, Tawakkol Karman and Ambassador Maria Leissner, Secretary General of the Community of Democracies.
During this time the US President, Barack Obama`s video greetings will be delivered to dignitaries and ministers.
After the General Meeting joint sessions including parallel meetings of organizations of CD Pillars and Ministers and Ministers and SCO representatives will be organized throughout the day at the Grand Hall of Government House.
After this President of Mongolia, Ts.Elbegdorj will receive Foreign Ministers of the Community of Democracies.
Finally the closing ceremony will be held at the Grand Hall of the Government House at 14:40-15:50 pm. There will also be scheduled performance for the dignitaries of the CD.
Bilateral visits and meetings will be organized for April 30th.
