Mongolian rural women first time attend the UN special session. By the Mongolian government’s initiative UN declared 2012 as International Year of Cooperatives. 20 mongolian women attended in the 56th Session of the Commission of the Status of Women which took plave in New York.

Twenty rural women from Mongolia are coming to NYC to share their views on and first-hand experiences in addressing the multi-faceted challenges they faced in their day-to-day life. In addition, Governments, relevant international organizations and civil society will share their own perspective on what has been and what still remains to be delivered on the commitments undertaken to improve the overall situation of rural women within the framework of the internationally agreed development goals, including the Millennium Development Goals and the Beijing Platform for Action.
