TRAINING HELD ON MEDICAL AID FOR DISABLED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The administration of the city's Songinokhairkhan district has hosted a training on strengthening a public participation in improvement of medical assistance for the disabled.

This training was co-organized on March 14-16 by the project on access to health services for disadvantaged groups in UB city (JFPR 9115-MON) and the “Health for New Society” NGO with financial support from the Foundation of Supporting Health. It has brought together some 50 participants such as workers from several khoroos (the smallest administrative unit in UB) of the Songinokhairkhan district. They have been given knowledge and information about mobilizing the public in activities of supporting health.

The training's content was divided into two sections--on health and supporting health, and on mobilizing the public and citizens in supporting health.

An expert from the “Health for New Society” NGO O.Enkhmaa has given to the trainees a lesson on determination of health, factors to health and creating an environment for supporting health.

According to a Master Plan on Supporting Health Sector until 2015, authorities of bagas and khoroos, social workers and section heads are the main human resource to realize a goal of distributing medical assistance to low-income people and the disabled, mothers and infants.
