A sacred tooth relic of Buddha is recognized

On Wednesday`s meeting, the cabinet approved to recognize a sacred tooth relic of Buddha” on National heritage list of history and culture. A working group to welcome, study, keep hold and present the tooth relic of Buddha to the public is due to formed. The sacred relic tooth of Buddha is belong to BC 624-544, bone bottomed and cuspid shaped. It is said in history that when Buddha is passed away, his students divided his ashes of body into eight pieces to make them relic. The sacred relic of Buddha had been venerating in Sri-Lanka, Tailand and China.
