BANK OF MONGOLIA REPORTS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ According to a report of the Bank of Mongolia, a money supply (broad money or M2) at the end of February 2012 reached MNT 6,238.4 billion, increasing 90.9 billion or 1.5 per cent against the previous month, and increasing 1,370.9 billion or 28.2 per cent against the previous year.
Currency issued in circulation reached MNT 673.8 billion, going up 16.8 billion or 2.6 percent against the previous month and by 199.3 billion or 42.0 per cent against 2011.
Loans outstanding at the end of February 2012 amounted to MNT 5,706.2 billion, increasing 58.6 billion or 1.0 per cent against the previous month and by 2,179.9 billion or 61.8 per cent against the previous year.
Principals in arrears reached MNT 176.3 billion increasing 102.5 billion or 2.3 times against the previous month and by 63.7 billion or 56.6 per cent against 2011.
The non-performing loans over the bank system reached MNT 323.3 billion, decreasing 3.3 billion or 1.0 per cent against the previous month and by 37.1 billion or 10.3 per cent against the previous year.
In February of this year, some seven million shares valued MNT 2.6 billion were traded in 19 trading days.
