Mongolian Stock Exchange to Extend Master Service Agreement with London Stock Exchange
September 1 (infomongolia.com) In 2011, Mongolian Stock Exchange (MSE) signed a strategic partnership Master Service Agreement with London Stock Exchange Group to develop the MSE by launching international standard and practice.

Two parties are planning to extend this Master Service Agreement for 3 years during the event of “Capital Markets Day for Mongolia” which will be held in London city on September 09, 2014. Minister of Finance Ch.Ulaan and Acting CEO of Mongolian Stock Exchange D.Angar will sign the agreement according to the guidance of Prime Minister of Mongolia.

September 1 (infomongolia.com) Traditionally, the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj hosts an online lesson on Mongolian National Broadcaster (MNB) on September 1st, as the first day of Mongolia’s Academic Year nationwide.
Starting from 2009, President Ts.Elbegdorj hosted TV classes themed “Global Warming and Mongolia” on September 01, 2009, “National Pride of Mongolia” in 2010, “Beautiful Mongolia” in 2011, “A Good Beginning Makes a Good Ending” in 2012, “Legal Governance and Children’s Involvement” in 2013, and this year’s class was on “Creative Education - Creative Citizen” started at 10:00 am and was transmitted via MNB, UBS, Mongol and Education channels.
From 2014-2015 Academic Year, Mongolian educational system for elementary schools begins with a new program and accordingly, President Ts.Elbegdorj taught his class introducing a new program for pupils.
Throughout the country, approximately 510,100 secondary school pupils are studying in the 2014-2015 Year, whereas about 60,000 kids (6-year-old) have entered in their first classes nationwide.
As customary, government officials are participating in the opening ceremony of new school year, and Speaker of the State Great Khural (Parliament) Z.Enkhbold attended in opening of 2014-2015 Year of College of Construction Technology, Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag has also delivered an opening remarks at the Secondary School No.92, Deputy Prime Minister D.Terbishdagva at the School No.9 and Minister of Education and Science L.Gantumur at the opening ceremony of School No.35, Ulaanbaatar.

President Gives TV Lesson

Ulaanbaatar, September 1 (MONTSAME) On the first day of the 2014-2015 academic year on Monday, the leader of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj gave a TV lesson themed "Creative education--creative person" /Education for every child/ to the country's children.
This is the sixth "September 1" for the President. As usual, the lesson was aired nationwide through four channels. The lesson was This year’s TV lesson was attended by Education Minister, together with fourth grade pupils from the “Ireedui” complex school and from the 12th secondary school. It also brought together teachers who implemented a project on updating textbooks for elementary schools.
On a basis of a Mongolian tale "Home", the President focused on ways of being creative in his lesson.

One-Day Working Visit of Russian President to Mongolia Affirmed
September 1 (infomongolia.com) At invitation of the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin will be conducting a working visit to Mongolia on September 03, 2014.
The announcement was simultaneously re-confirmed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation on September 01, 2014.
During his visit to Mongolia, President V.Putin will be participating in the ceremonial events commemorating the 75th anniversary of Victory of the Khalkhyn Gol Battles.
Moreover, Russia-Mongolia intergovernmental meeting will be held at a top level and several bilateral documents are expected to be signed, reports Kremlin.

University of Medical Sciences Benefits from Educational Quality Innovation

Ulaanbaatar, September 1 (MONTSAME) The opening of the 2014-2015 academic year of the National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) took place on Friday at which its rector said that thanks to 10 billion investments the University improved its academic environment.
Present there were also R.Gonchigdorj, Vice-speaker of the parliament, L.Gantumur, the Minister of Education and Sciences, and J.Amarsanaa, Vice-Minister of health.
The rector G.Batbaatar also said that a 2800 m2 4-story building for a School of Pharmacology, and a new laboratory of international standards, a 7-story library, and a glass-roof Eco-cabinet have been erected. "This is unprecedented amount of the investments," he stressed and expressed a gratitude to Mr L,Gantumur, the Minister of education and sciences, on behalf of all students and professors of NUMS.
In response, the Minister congratulated all the gathered and underlined that students must master knowledge instead of just learning by heart and memorizing. He also believes that the new library which will open this November will help them master skills in practice. "God helps those who help themselves. You can do anything," he said and handed honorary medals to some professors.

PM Attends Opening of Academic Year

Ulaanbaatar, September 1 (MONTSAME) The Prime Minister attended the opening of academic year at school 92 on Monday.
This school, established in 1991, is starting this academic year in a new building. It has implemented a “Talent” programme with much success, having 16 kinds of study-groups, and many of its children achieved in sports and arts.
At the opening, the PM N.Altankhuyag gave gifts to B.Garidmagnai, a pupil from 10th grade, a silver medalist of Asian Championship of Chess who just returned home, and others. He noted that the schools must be a field of teachers-children-parents cooperation. “It is apparent that this school is a role model of such an cooperation. It has a garden, created at initiative and involvement of parents, and it discover and develop children’s talents,' he said.
A number of children entering general education schools reached 59,352, the largest number in the last 20 years. In 2014-2015 academic year, elementary schools will be pursuing a renovated programme, said B.Nasanbayar, a head of Strategy and Policy Planning department of Ministry of Education and Sciences.

Speaker Addresses Academic Years’ Opening

Ulaanbaatar, September 1 (MONTSAME) The Chairman of the State Great Khural (parliament) Z.Enkhbold participated in an opening ceremony of the 2014-2015 academic year at the College of Construction and Techniques on Monday.
Addressing students, the Speaker emphasized that the national development cannot be imagined without industries, engineers and skilled technological workforce. “Our country is paying great attention to the education for experts and workers of the technological sector in order to keep boosting its position in the world’s development," he underlined.
Then the Speaker legged the college’s plumbing and turnery training rooms and construction vocational department.
This college was founded in 1954 at the Technical Institute of Industry. In 1960, it became the Technical College for Construction, adding four branches with 540 students. As of present, the college belongs to the Mongolian University of Science and Technology, running ten primary and five technical professions courses. Since its establishment, the college has prepared some 8,500 technicians with special secondary education and 20 thousand professional construction workers.

Mayor Meets FISU President

Ulaanbaatar, September 1 (MONTSAME) The Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city E.Bat-Uul met this weekend a delegation headed by Mr Claude-Louis Gallien, a president of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), who had participated in a regular meeting of the FISU Steering Committee in Ulaanbaatar.
The Mayor thanked the FISU leaders for visiting Mongolia and pointed out that Ulaanbaatar wants to host the Summer Universiade Games in 2033, and asked the FISU authorities to back it.
In response, Gallien said Ulaanbaatar "has a really big ambition", and highlighted an importance of a long-year planning and efforts. “Hosting Universiade Games is a big responsibility and a project, too. World’s leading dynamic cities spend much time and put huge efforts to organize the Universiade. Host of the Olympics is very close to those cities that hosted the Universiade,” Mr Gallien noted and added that the FISU is ready to help Ulaanbaatar reach this goal. He recommended that Ulaanbaatar study experiences of the Universiade and develop the infrastructure.
Present at the meeting were O.Matytsin, first deputy president of the FISU; S.Berg and L.Kabral, the FISU deputy presidents; and other officials.

Pupils Succeed in Asian Chess Championship

Ulaanbaatar, September 1 (MONTSAME) The 10th Asian Junior Chess Championship ran this August 24-29 in Taichung city of Taiwan at which our players have won three gold, six silver and two bronze medals.
Our chess team of 29 pupils from general education schools has won these 11 medals and also some prized places. All the participants, except for age-5 players, have satisfied conditions of candidate master (CM and WCM) titles of the World Chess Federation (FIDE).
The medalists are: under age 5(boys): a gold medalist dal” Bayarjavkhlan, under age 5(girls): a silver medalist Odmaa, age 6-7(boys): a bronze medalist Ochirbat, age 6-7(girls): a gold medalist Enkhsaran and others.

Turkey to provide Mongolia with 300 million USD soft loan
September 1 (news.mn) Defense Minister of Mongolia D.Bat-Erdene attended the inauguration ceremony of Turkey’s president-elect Recep Tayyip Erdogan during an official visit to Turkey.
Defense Minister D.Bat-Erdene also had a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey and Head of the Mongolia-Turkey Intergovernmental Joint Committee, BÑŒlent Arinc. The two exchanged  views on seeking ways to expand further bilateral economic and trade relations, reviewing the progress of the implementation of protocol from the VII Intergovernmental Committee Meeting in Ankara, in March 2013, and further measures to be taken.
The Government of Turkey pledged to provide Mongolia with 300 million USD in soft loans.
