Social
Good Summit of Mongolia to Run
By B. Khuder
Ulaanbaatar,
September 10 (MONTSAME) The Mongolia +Social Good Meet Up social event will
take place on September 22 in Ulaanbaatar at IT Park with a participation of
civil society organizations, IT specialists, women leaders and government
representatives, the UNDP website reported Tuesday.
It will
advocate for “social good”, to bring out innovative initiatives and social
enterprises, to challenge existing social norms, encourage women’s leadership
and empowerment and to facilitate a more forward-thinking modern youth
identity.
The +SocialGood
Meet Up adopts a similar architecture and design of the Social Good Summit in
New York, where national leaders and grassroots activists are invited to
discuss the largest issues at hand, fuelled by the need for more focus on women
and youth in the Post Millennium Development Goals. Every aspect of the Summit,
from speeches to discussions will be broadcast live through internet based
platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+ Hangouts, so that those not
present may still participate and have their voices heard.
The global
Social Good Summit, organized by the United Nations Foundation, the United
Nation Development Programme, 92Y and Mashables, is a two-day conference
examining the impact of technology and new media on social good initiatives
around the world.
Held
concurrently during the United Nations General Assembly from September 21-22nd,
the Social Good Summit unites a dynamic community of global leaders and
grassroots activists to discuss solutions for the greatest challenges of our
time. The theme, #2030NOW, asks the question, “What type of world do I want to
live in by the year 2030?” During the Social Good Summit, global citizens
around the world unite to unlock the potential of technology to make the world
a better place.
