POLITICAL PARTIES AND COALITIONS FINISH ANNOUNCEMENT OF CANDIDATES
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Political parties and coalitions that will run in the parliamentary election in June 28 closed on Friday the deadline for announcing their candidates.
The Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) finished on Wednesday the announcement of their candidates; the Mongolian People's Party (MPP) and the Democratic Party (DP)--on Thursday night.
The MPP and DP are to run 48 candidates in each constituency, and 28 candidates by the list of parties. The "Justice" joint coalition of the MPRP and National Democratic Party, and the Civil Will-Green Party already have finished announcement.
On May 30, the candidates at constituencies are to register their documents in the constituency committees, whereas other candidates will bring their documents to the General Election Commission (GEC). By June 6, the GEC must make a decision whether to register the candidates, so all candidates will be revealed by June 7.
The 2012 parliamentary election will run among 11 political parties and two coalitions. The previous parliamentary election ran among 323 candidates from 12 political parties and one coalition, and 33 independent candidates.
