NAT'L OLYMPIC COMMITTEE REPORTS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The president of the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu (Taiwan) has been elected the member of the Executive Council of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) pursuant to a decision made by a session of the summer sports federations held in Quebec, Canada.
While visiting last month Mongolia to watch the Women's Boxing Asian Championship, Mr. Wu was awarded the Polar Star Order in accordance with the President's decree.
The Rio Tinto Group has been selected as the official supplier of metals to be used for producing 4,700 gold, silver and bronze medals of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The president of Mongolia's National Olympic Committee (MonNOC) has received D.Monkhjargal, a figure of basketball sport and director of the "Suu" company, in the Olympic House.
The MonNOC head thanked D.Monkhjargal for collaborating with the Olympic Committee in developing sports, and then granted him the Olympic Merit Order. He said the MonNOC wants to continue the cooperation with the company in boosting basketball sport.
