Indian Wrestling Grand Prix: Rana wins gold; bronze for Manoj
NEW DELHI: Praveen Rana added another gold to India's kitty on the final day of the Hari Ram Indian Wrestling Grand Prix on Sunday. Praveen got the better of Georgia's Lobjanidze4-0, 2-0 in the 66 kg category.
Praveen, who started his campaign against fellow wrestler Manoj Kumar, had one-sided bouts all through the tournament. He beat Iran's Nasiri and Mongolia's Khultee on his way to the finals. Having lost to Praveen in the first round itself, Manoj ended up with a bronze.
The hosts then added two more bronze with Pawan Kumar (84kg) and Gursharan Kaur (women 72kg) managing podium finishes.
India finished third overall in men's category after Georgia and Mongolia. Among women,Mongolia topped the points table with 54 points followed by US (53) and Japan (50). India were placed fourth.
