DEFENSE MINISTRY CONGRATULATES A.E.SERDYUKOV
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Defense J.Enkhbayar MP has sent a congratulatory letter to Mr A.E.Serdyukov who has been re-elected the Defense Minister of Russian Federation.
The Minister J.Enkhbayar says in the letter that Mr. Serdyukov has contributed to expanding of the military and technical cooperation.
An international scientific conference themed “Peacekeeping operations: Participation of Mongolia's Armed Forces” ran on Wednesday on occasion of the 10th anniversary of participation of Mongolia and itst Armed Forces in the UN peacekeeping operations.
Among the prominent attendees were Lieutenant-General Ts.Togoo, the State Secretary of the Defense Ministry; Ms. Sezin Sinanoglu, the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Mongolia; S.Onon, a director of the International Organizations Department of the Foreign Ministry; Major-General B.Bayarmagnai, the deputy head of Mongolia's Armed Forces; Major-General Ya.Choijamts, a head of the Public Administration and Management Department of the Defense Ministry; G.Uyanga, an expert of the National Security Council; and Colonel D.Monkh-Ochir, a director of the Scientific Institute of Defense.
They have delivered reports themes “Participation of Mongolia's Armed Foces in the peacekeeping operations, further attitude”, “UN peacekeeping operations”, “Foreign Policy of Mongolia and peacekeeping operations”, “Reform of Armed forces and peacekeeping operations”, “Legal basis of peacekeeping operations”, “Positions of foreign countries over Mongolia's participation in peacekeeping operations” and “Peacekeeping and patriotism of youths”.
Within the conference, the Museum of Mongolian Troops has mounted an exhibition “Mongolian troops in peacekeeping operations”.
