Vail Mountain Invites Skiers and Snowboarders to Conquer the Seven Wonders of Vail This Sunday, Feb. 12
Vail Mountain, the largest ski resort in the nation has put out an invite for skiers and snowboarders to take part in the culmination of the Winter Teva Mountain Games. Individuals are encouraged to visit the mountain on Sunday, February 12th to conquer its seven legendary back bowls, which cover an area spanning more than 3,000 acres across 7 miles across!
The event is modeled after the very popular Talons Challenge at Beaver Creek. Participants will use EpicMix scanners to "check-in" at designated station, which will track their progress throughout the bowls. Those who finish all seven which includes Sun Down, Sun Up, Tea Cup, China, Siberia, Inner Mongolia and Outer Mongolia receive a special Seven Wonders EpicMix digital pin.
The EpicMix entry stations will be located at the base of the High Noon Express Lift (#5), the Sun Up Lift (#17), the Orient Express Lift (#21), the Tea Cup Express Lift (#36) and the Mongolia Lift (#22). There is no set-route or order for tackling each both, skiers and snowboarders will be free to blaze their own trail and plan the best route for them to execute all 7 bowl runs within the allotted timeframe.
“We’re excited to find out how many of our guests can actually conquer all seven of Vail’s Back Bowls in one day and how they choose to take on the challenge,” said Adam Sutner, director of sales and marketing for Vail Mountain. “It’s going to take strategy, thinking and foresight, not just physical ability.”
In addition to virtual bragging rights, all entrants will go home with a sweet gift bag and be invited to an after-party at Mountain Plaza in Vail Village. The fun goes down from 2-4 p.m. and includes food, drinks, giveaways, a $1,000 cash prize and more. For registration and additional details, visit www.vail.com/events/sevenwonders. Space is limited and lift access is not included in the registration fee: $25 online; $35 on site.
