PREMIER MEETS AMBASSADORS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Prime Minister has underlined that the Mongolia-Britain relations and cooperation have been brought into a new step and that the cooperation in the macroeconomic, banking and financial sectors has been widening.



The Premier said it on Thursday during a meeting with Ms. Thorda Abbott-Watt, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Mongolia, in conjunction with a completion of her diplomatic mission here.

The Premier has stressed that a capability of the Mongolian Stock Exchange has been improving thanks to establishing a strategic partnership with the London Stock Exchange (LSE). He underlined that the cooperation in the educational sector has been developing successfully, for example, a basis has been laid to introduce the educational system of Cambridge in Mongolia, opening an opportunity for the Mongolians to get internationally-recognized education.

He noted that the UK is playing a leading role in the worldwide activities against climate changes and expressed a willingness of Mongolia to cooperate init with the UK.

In response, Ms. Thorda Abbott-Watt supported the Premier's words and said she was impressed by Mongolian pupils' interest to studies under the Cambridge standard.

Mentioning about the 50th anniversary of the Mongolia-UK diplomatic relations, Ms. Abbott-Watt underlined its importance and said she will actively participate in celebrating this date.

The Premier received Mr. Yves Delaunay, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France.

He said an opportunity has opened for the two countries to widen their ties and collaboration in all spheres such as economics, trade and environment. He is glad that France appointed to Mongolia the Ambassador who knows Mongolian language, culture and history.

The Premier underlined an importance of expanding the bilateral relations, especially the strategic partnership ties, in bringing the ties into a comprehensive partnership level and to regularize high level mutual visits.

Noting that Mongolia aims to introduce the European standards, the Premier said the sides can develop the cooperation in mining, agriculture and in protection of cultural heritage. He said Mongolia wants to continue an export of its products to the European Union (EU) without taxes.
In turn, Mr. Delaunay thanked the Premier for the audience, and spoke about his first visit to Mongolia paid 27 years ago. He said a rapid development of Mongolia will let it become of the top countries in Asia.

Mr. Delaunay noted that the French people have a deep interest to Mongolia.

The same day, the Premier met Mr. Shimizu Takenori, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia.

Mr. Takenori said the Japanese side is attaching a great importance to a visit of the Mongolian Prime Minister, and hoped that this visit will open a new chapter in the Mongolia-Japan relations and cooperation.

The Premier pointed out an importance of economic partnership agreement which is to deepen the economic and commercial collaboration. He said Mongolia is maintaining a direction to cooperate with Japan in producing value-added products by introducing the progressive and latest technologies and methods.
S.Batbold hoped that starting of the economic partnership agreement will be a new step of the Mongolia-Japan traditional relations.

In connection with the 40th anniversary of the diplomatic relations, the sides emphasized an importance to augment frequency of high level mutual visits and talks.
