Mongolia – First Asian Country to Sign PAC with EU
A Framework Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation (PAC) between the European Community and its Member States and Mongolia is signed in Ulaanbaatar on December 20.
The signatories were B.Bolor, Deputy Foreign Minister of Mongolia and Franz Jessen, Head of Unit, DG External Relations, European Commission, who heads the visiting EU Delegation.
“Today we witness a historically important event for bilateral relationships between Mongolia and European Union” said Prime Minister of Mongolia Batbold Sukhbaatar, who was presence at the signing ceremony. “The newly-signed document will bring bilateral cooperation into a new level of development” he underlined.
Mongolia becomes the first Asian state to sign the Framework Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation with European Union.
After signing the document, the sides held talks on withdrawal of Mongolia from the list of countries with non-market economy. The EU delegation handed over a special questionnaire prepared by European Commission in relations to this matter
