Parliamentary office delegation attends seminar in S.KOREA
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ An international seminar of parliamentary research services of Asian countries has been held in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, at an initiative of the Research Service of the South Korea's National Assembly.
The seminar has been attended by representatives from Cambodia, India, Laos, Mongolia, Vietnam and the South Korea. Mongolia was represented by Ts.Norovdondog, head of the Research Center at parliamentary office; D.Nasanjargal, head of the law and legislative section; Ts.Tovuusuren, a senior expert of the Research Center; O.Narantuya, expert; and D.Tegshbayar, an officer of the Premier's Office.
The participants have delivered reports on activities and urgent problems faced to parliamentary research in their countries. A presentation on the Mongolian parliamentary office's Research Center has been made by Ts.Norovdondog. A wide-range discussion has run on improving providing of legislative bodies with specialized and urgent information and researches, on creating a cooperation network for regional parliamentary research organizations.
As a result, the participants have agreed to cooperate in establishing a mechanism of structure, form and activity of the collaboration for the parliamentary research services of Asian countries. The countries have shared views on creating a network or regional organization of the parliamentary research services. In conjunction with this, a working group has been set up in charge of organizing the cooperation network. Ts.Norovdondog is included in the group from the Mongolian side.
During the seminar, a cooperation memorandum has been signed between the Research Center at the State Great Khural and the Research Service at the Korean National Assembly. Accordingly, Mongolia will send a trainee researcher to the South Korea to have practice in the Korean National Assembly, also materials on legislation are to be exchanged, meetings and seminars will be organized, experts will be shares and involved in training programs and mutual visits.
The Mongolian delegation of parliamentary office has visited the Secretariat of the National Assembly, its Research Center, the parliamentary e-library and the organization of budgetary research.
