G. Zandanshatar meets foreign ministers of Australia and Indonesia
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Attending the Third Bali Democracy Forum held December 9-10 in Indonesia, the Foreign Minister of Mongolia G.Zandanshatar has met with Australia's foreign minister Mr. Kevin Rudd. They have exchanged views on the bilateral and regional relations and cooperation and on experiences of democratic development.
G.Zandanshatar has mentioned that Mongolia attaches a great importance to the relations with Australia, and expressed a willingness to widen a collaboration in the mining and educational sectors and to get technical assistance.
Mr. Rudd has said Australia will not decline technical assistance to Mongolia adding Australia will pay attention to developing beneficial cooperation with Mongolia in the mineral sector.
In response, Zandanshatar said he appreciates understanding about the third way for development pursued by Mr. Rudd, and then invited his counterpart to visit Mongolia in 2011. He has said Mongolia will organize a theoretical conference in Ulaanbaatar next year for considering a third way of development, and that he wants the Australian minister to give a report.
On December 10, G.Zandanshatar met with Mr. Marty M. Natalegawa, the foreign minister of Indonesia. They shave shared opinions on the Mongolia-Indonesia relations and cooperation, and development of democracy.
G.Zandanshatar has said Mongolia will chair the League of Democracies from 2011 and underlined that Mongolia wants to cooperate with Indonesia as for the organizer of the Bali Democracy Forum.
Mr. Natalegawa has pointed out that any country should ensure its democratic choice by economic development adding as for the countries who successfully implemented their democratic transition Indonesia and Mongolia have to learn many things from each other.
The foreign ministers have considered as necessity to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Mongolia-Indonesia diplomatic relations, and to co-establish a joint committee for the economic collaboration. They have underlined an importance to cooperate in frames of the UN and other international organizations, and to strengthen structures such as the ARF.
