Ambassador to Croatia presents credentials

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Croatia J.Enkhsaikhan has presented his letter of credence to the Croatian President Ivo Josipovic.

At the meeting held after this ceremony, the dignitaries exchanged views on the Mongolia-Croatia relations and cooperation. The Croatian President has mentioned that Mr. Enkhsaikhan "is the very first Ambassador of Mongolia to present the credentials", and then noted that the two countries have an opportunity "to widen the bilateral cooperation".

After the meeting, Mr. Enkhsaikhan met with some officials of Croatia to consider with them issues of developing the Mongolia-Croatia ties in specific spheres such as tourism, agriculture and education.

Since the relations have been boosting in the political sector, the sides have agreed to run political consultative meeting next year to increase frequency of talks and strengthen a mutual understanding. The sides have emphasized an importance of creating direct ties between Mongolian and Croatian businessmen so that they forward the economic collaboration, and agreed to organize an event for propagandizing Croatia. The Croatian side has said its government involved three Mongolian students in the scholarships for bachelor and master's training adding that their number might be increased.

The Republic of Croatia develops a tourism gaining much experiences in it, for example, it receives some ten million tourists a year, especially in summer.

The sides have reached an agreement to cooperate in the tourism sector by exchanging information and experiences and to attract Croatian tourists to Mongolia.

While visiting the "Veterina" company of vet medicine factory, the Ambassador learned that its authorities want to seek cooperation opportunities and to visit Mongolia early 2011.

The diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Croatia were established in 1993. The President of Croatia visited Mongolia in 2008.
