Tech expo kicks off in Manzhouli
The 11th North China (Manzhouli) International Tech Expo kicked off on July 3 in Manzhouli, in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
Hosted at the Manzhouli International Exhibition and Convention Center, the event takes place in an indoor exhibition area of 20,000 square meters and an outdoor area of 10,000 square meters. It covers themes of development, innovation and cooperation.
The expo is jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the government of Inner Mongolia, the governments of Russia's Zabaykalsky Krai and the Republic of Buryatia and by the Mongolia Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology. It attracted high-tech businesses, universities, colleges and scientific and research institutes from China, Russia, Mongolia and elsewhere.
Compared to previous events, the 11th expo is distinguished by its scale and quality, as well as by the record number of attendees, both from abroad and home.
The event serves as a platform for science and technology exchanges and cooperation between Chinese enterprises and research institutes, as well as their counterparts from Russia, Mongolia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The expo is an important event on the schedule of the 2014 Manzhouli Summer Series Activities, along with the China Manzhouli 13th Sino-Russia-Mongolia International Tourism Festival.
