From Norfolk to Mongolia in a Renault 5
Sam Scott is currently pushing his Renault 5 to the limit on a trip from England to Mongolia as part of the 2014 Mongol Rally.
Mr Scott, who grew up in Bressingham and now lives in Norwich, is currently six days into the journey, having departed on Sunday.
His car, which was bought in Diss and previously used as a cheap run-around, has been prepared for the journey by Bressingham-based team sponsors Wyatt Engineering.
The 29-year-old is joined by two friends who have planned a route that will take them through the Iranian Highlands, the deserts of Turkmenistan, the glaciers of Mongolia, and, in Sam’s words, “10,000 miles of the unknown in-between.”
The Mongol Rally began in 2004 and is an annual event which sees cars travelling from the UK to Mongolia. Entrants are required to raise at least £1,000 in sponsorship, half of which goes to the charity Cool Earth. Donations can be made by visiting www.justgiving.com/foxforce5ive
