North China's Inner Mongolia Holds Anti-drug Promotion Activities
Multiple activities have been launched by the women's federation of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region to raise local women's awareness of the negative impacts connected to drug abuse and call on them to fight against illicit drugs over recent months on the occasion of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The annual International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking falls on June 26th.
A contest was jointly organized by the Inner Mongolia Women's Federation, the Inner Mongolia Anti-drug Department and the Inner Mongolia Department of Education to select outstanding paintings displaying an anti-drug theme. A total of 46 paintings were conferred with awards for their quality and presented to the Inner Mongolia Anti-drug Department as gifts to educate more people about the dangers of illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, local families with artistic talents were recommended by municipal-level women's federations across the autonomous region to demonstrate their performance in a televised national anti-drug competition program. After fierce competitions, Du Wenkai and his family members, who are from Hulun Buir City, were voted to compete in the final contest and impressed the audience with their excellent performance with local flavors at the program.
Moreover, the Inner Mongolia Women's Federation held a large-scale promotional activity in Xinhua Square in Hohhot, capital city of the autonomous region, on June 26th to spread anti-drug publications among local residents and raise their awareness of drug-related crimes. Vice President of the Inner Mongolia Women's Federation Bao Xiaochun attended the activity.
