EXTERNAL TRADE BALANCE WAS IN DEFICIT
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first nine months of 2013, Mongolia traded with 126 countries, and total external trade turnover reached USD 7,923.3 mln, of which exports made up USD 3,097.8 mln and imports USD 4,825.4 mln.
Foreign trade balance showed a deficit of USD 1.7 bln, reflecting a USD 286.6 mln or a 14.2 percent decrease against the same period of 2012.
Total external trade turnover decreased USD 554.1 mln or 6.5 percent--imports down by USD 420.4 mln or 8.0 percent, and exports down by USD 133.8 mln or 4.1 percent, compared to same period of the previous year.
Main export goods were mineral products, textile articles, natural or cultured stones, precious metals, jewelries, coins, raw and processed hides, skins, fur and articles, animal origin products, all of which amounted for 96.9 percent of the total export value.
