CHESS PLAYERS COMPETING IN ASIAN CITIES CHESS TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Our chess players are taking part in the Asian Cities Chess Team Championship for the Dubai Cup.
The events kicked off October 20 in Tagaytay city, the Philippines, and have gathered 87 players from 18 cities of Mongolia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, the Republic of Korea and Iran. Mongolia is being represented by teams of Ulaanbaatar and Erdenet cities. They are B.Mongontuul (FIDE rating 2,440), an international master and woman grandmaster; B.Gundavaa (2,500), a FIDE grand master; M.Gunbayar (2,389), a FIDE master; G.Monkhgal (2,400), an international master; and S.Bilguun (2,284), a FIDE master, also N.Battulga (2,396), an international master; O.Bilgesaikhan (2,071), Ch.Ganbold (2,171), Sh.Torbat (2,035) and Yo.Bayarsaikhan (2,022).
Four games after, the UB team is the sixth with ten points, the Erdenet’s team--the 11th with seven points.
Nine games will take place by the Swiss system, a winner team will be selected October 26.
