MONGOLIAN POSTGRADUATES TO STUDY WITH SCHOLARSHIP IN UK
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolian students now can study full-time courses at postgraduate level at UK universities with a scholarship by the governments of the two countries.
The scholarships will be granted according to the Chevening Global Scholarships memorandum between the Mongolian Ministry for Education and Science and the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), signed this October 15 by Education Minister of Mongolia L.Battomor and the UK Foreign Secretary William Hague, during the latter's visit to Mongolia.
Prior to Mr Hague's visit, the Minister Gantomor had talks with some UK officials to increase the number of UK government scholarships granted to Mongolians, during his participation in the Education World Forum in London last January.
Within the UK government's scholarship program, up to ten Mongolian candidates will be awarded a chance to study one-year master's degree in Great Britain, after the exams conducted by the British Embassy in Ulaanbaatar.
Chevening Scholarships are the UK government's global scholarship program, funded by the FCO and partner organizations. The program makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK.
The Chevening program was established in 1983 and has developed into a prestigious international scheme in a partnership with 118 countries worldwide.
