Artifact preservation training for NMMH staff
With the financial backing of the Japanese Trust Fund, training on “Museum Sustainability and Disaster Defense” is scheduled for September 23 through September 27, at the National Museum of Mongolian History (NMMH).
The Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism and the Mongolian National Commission of UNESCO are cooperating with NMMH to prevent the theft of museum artifacts, security during sudden attack, and avoiding risks derived from natural disaster or climate factors.
Pavel Jirásek, former director of the Department of Movable Cultural Heritage, Museums and Galleries of the Czech Republic’s Ministry of Culture, will lead the training sessions. Local participants of the training will share what they learn with curators and museum officials in the provinces.
