Four nations team up to present Asian museums seminar in Bagan

In a joint effort with Japan, Mongolia, and Thailand, Myanmar yesterday presented a seminar in Bagan aimed at improving how museums do their work.

“New Horizons in Asian Museums and Museology” was held at the Ancient Archeological Research Museum in the Bagan Ancient Archeological Region, central Myanmar.

“The main purpose of this seminar was to exchange facts on museum displays, how to preserve museum property, and how to collect ancient artifacts,” said Naing Win, director of the Bagan Ancient Archeological Research Department.

The Bagan Ancient Archeological Research Museum opened in April 1998.

Yesterday, experts from the four countries visited the Ancient Research Museum, Lacquer Museum and Shwe Pyi Nan Myanmar Traditional Cosmetic Museum in Bagan-NyaungOo Township.
