‘Universe Best Songs’ contest proclaims 2013 winner
The UBS television reality show and contest, “Universe Best Songs,” in which singers singing in foreign languages compete, announced the 2013 winner after the finale gala concert last Thursday. Contestant B.Erdenetsetseg won the Grand Prix award and took home the cash prize of five million MNT, along with a scholarship to study at Kongju Communication Arts University in South Korea for four years and the opportunity to watch a concert of a famous singer of her choice abroad.
B.Erdenetsetseg performed the song “Listen” by Beyonce on the finale.
The second placer was A.Uyanga and she was awarded with three million MNT in cash along with a certificate to study at Hallym University in South Korea for one year for free.
The third place was shared by two contestants, A.Dulguun and B.Ochirbat. Each singer received a cash prize of two million MNT and a scholarship to study in South Korea for six months.
The “Universe Best Songs” contest was on its fifth edition this year with the theme, “Let’s Give Respect, Love, and Smile” with the aim to encourage young people to respect the elderly, love our country, and always smile from the bottom of their hearts. This year, more than 500 people above the age of 16 competed in the show and the top 16 contestants were selected in the final stage.
The fifth “Universe Best Songs” contest started airing in January and the judges of the show were the President of the Pentatonic Academy, producer B.Dolgion, singer B.Amarkhuu, and producer Raghu Raman of Pro Sounds Studio.
