First Tourist Train Begins 14-Day Trip From Moscow To Beijing
MOSCOW, Aug 15 (Bernama) -- A special tourist train from Moscow to Beijing on Trans-Mongolian route of world-longest rail road begins its first voyage on Monday, Russian news agency Itar-Tass reported.
Among the cities to be visited by the tourists with guided excursions are Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Ulan-Ude, Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) and Erlian (China).
"A rich programme of excursions will be offered in each of these cities," a spokesman for Russian Railways Co (RZD) told Itar-Tass.
The tourist train will make many stops for sightseeing and excursions, so the journey will be longer as usual Trans-Siberian trip Moscow-Beijing.
The tour is organized by RZhD-Tour (related structure of FPK, subsidiary company of Russian Railways) in cooperation with Intourist, first-rate Russian tour operator.
The first trip of the special tourist train Moscow-Beijing will start on Aug 14 in Moscow. It will arrive to Beijing on Aug 26.
After two days excursion programme, the train will start out on Aug 28 to arrive to Moscow on Sept 15. The train will be on route 2-3 weeks in order to let the passengers to visit cities and monuments of nature on their way.
In the tour, national cuisines will be offered on board, and interpreter services will be made available for foreign tourists during the trip, Itar-Tass reported.
Along with sleeping cars, the train has two restaurants, a cafeteria, and a compartment with bath cubicles.
