INTERNATIONAL COMMAND-STAFF EXERCISE RUN HERE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The “MPAT-TE-20” international command-staff exercise is being co-organized by the General Headquarters of the Armed Forces of Mongolia and the U.S. Pacific Command on August 18-26 in Mongolia. The international exercise is being attended by over 200 representatives of the Government of Mongolia, agencies responsible for ensuring the national security and the General Emergency Authority. It is also attended by over 40 representatives from 18 countries such as Australia, USA, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Papua, New Guinea, Philippine, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Vietnam and Japan. Aims of the international event are to enhance the capacity of the government retaliatory measures during disaster situation nationwide, unite international aids and assistances, increase the potential for the participation in peacekeeping operations, and experiment “Multinational force compatibility regulations” at the international level. The international exercise was hosted in Mongolia in 2003, 2006 and 2007.
