Bd's Mongolian Grill signs multi-unit deal for Pennsylvania
bd's Mongolian Grill has signed a multi-unit development agreement with Steel City Mongolian Grill to franchise bd's restaurants and continue to expand the brand in Western Pennsylvania.
Steel City Mongolian Grill, an eight-person team comprised of seven business professionals and a 35-year restaurant industry veteran, plans to open five bd's Mongolian Grill locations in and around Pittsburgh. The first location is scheduled to open in mid-November at the SouthSide Works downtown and will be the brand's first location to open in Pennsylvania.
"We are very excited to bring bd's distinctive and flavorful food -- choice meats and seafood, fresh vegetables, crisp salads and flavor-packed sauces and spices prepared by expert grillers on a 600-degree, 7-foot grill -- to the area," said Seshu Pulivarthi, managing director of Steel City Mongolian Grill. "There is nothing else like it. Our innovative recipe choices and energetic, interactive environment will undoubtedly draw the attention of Pittsburgh area diners."
bd's expansion into Pennsylvania is part of the company's strategic U.S. growth plan to increase its East Coast operations. Currently, the brand exists in Florida, Maryland and Virginia. The chain has grown to 35 restaurants, 34 domestically-based in 13 states and one in Mongolia.
