M.Batchimeg MP Visits General-Consulate in USA
Ulaanbaatar,
August 7 (MONTSAME) A member of the State Great Khural (parliament) Ms
M.Batchimeg Monday legged Mongolia’s General Consulate in San Francisco.
She has been
attending the Draper Hills summer training at the University of Stanford.
The
parliamentarian met the Mongolians living in Bay Area of San Francisco. The
General Consulate officials introduced to Ms Batchimeg their works and
activities and shared with her views on matters concerning a protection of
interests of Mongolians in the USA, an improvement of services, lessons of
Mongolian language and culture for the Mongolian children, a support for
Mongolian students, and a development of Mongol studies in the USA.
Exhibition of Medical Facilities to Be Mounted
Ulaanbaatar,
August 7 (MONTSAME) First international exhibition of medical facilities and
apparatus will be organized on August 27-29 in the "Misheel Expo"
center.
Co-organized by
the Ministry of Health, the "Misheel Expo" Group, the
"Monolab" LLC, China’s SCIS LLC, and the Society of Medical
Engineers, the exhibition will present the world’s biggest medical apparatus producers
and suppliers such as GE Healthcare, Medtronic, Covidien, Pentax, Nihon Kohden,
Belimed AG, ERBE, Kangda, KHB, Microport, KDL, Boxun, Siling, Sanyou, General
Care and Medi Land.
Apart of
propagandizing the latest progressive hi tech for medical diagnosis and
treatment, the action will also help to widen collaboration among the state,
private sector and international organizations and to share experiences.
At the
exhibition’s opening will Health Ministry, diplomats of the Chinese Embassy,
authorities of the medical bodies and international organizations.
FIBA 2014 Basketball World Cup to Be Transmitted by TV9 Channel
August 7
(infomongolia.com) The 17th edition of the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup will
be hosted in the Kingdom of Spain between August 30th and September 14th and it
will be the last time that the tournament will be held on the four-year cycle.
The next FIBA World Cup will be held five years later in 2019.
Meanwhile, the
Mongolian TV9 television channel has obtained the official right for live
broadcasting the forthcoming 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in association with
the MCS Coca Cola company, Skytel LLC, MNBA Sport TV along with the Mongolian
National Basketball Association.
The presenters
of the live broadcasting were selected as the Mongolian distinguished coach
Ts.Tseverbal and the officers of the Mongolian National Basketball Association
B.Damba and S.Tulga who will present the daily live basketball matches at 7:30
pm, 10:30 pm and 03:00 am each day according to the fixed schedule of the
championship.
The TV9 channel
will transmit the specially prepared introduction broadcast of each national
basketball team daily at 10:30 pm starting from today.
The winner of
the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup will automatically qualify for the 2016
Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Nomadic Fashion Show to Be Held in Tsonjin Boldog Resort
Complex
August 7
(infomongolia.com) The "Nomadic Fashion Show" is to be held on coming
August 20th in Tsonjin Boldog as one of the attractive resort complex in
Mongolia where the giant statue of Chinggis Khaan structured in there. The
forthcoming event has been organized by the Genco Tour Bureau in association
with the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism of Mongolia along with the

This year’s
nomadic costume fashion show will be an open air show in its’ first time through
which the best Mongolian top models will present over 70 unique and ideal
traditional costumes with modern and vanguard designs; as well as, the
Mongolian Morin Khuur Ensemble, Merit Artist D.Bold, singer S.Naran, “Shanz 3”
band, DJ Saran, DJ MAC from UK and the Mongolian contortionists will perform at
the invitation from the organizers.
The show ticket
costs 80,000 MNT (Tugrug) and the special buses will be under service at 6:00
pm on the event date to take each and every ticket holders from A Corpus,
Bayangol Hotel to the Tsonjin Boldog resort complex where will also diversity
of services available for the visitors’ convenience.
Elsewhere, the
next years’ “Nomadic Fashion Show” was also prescheduled to be held on July 14,
2015 by the event organizers accordingly in advance.
First-Ever
Embassy of Belarus Opens Its Gate in Ulaanbaatar City

(infomongolia.com) Today on August 6th, the Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Mongolia, Mr. Stanislav Chepurny
has handed over the credentials to the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj
respectively.
Afterwards, the
President of Mongolia has received recently appointed Ambassador Stanislav
Chepurny for a discussion and noted “Since the official visit of the Prime
Minister of the Republic of Belarus to Mongolia in 2013, the bilateral
relations between the two countries have been developing in recent times and
the result has been proven with this circumstance again that you appointed as
the Ambassador from Belarus to Mongolia in terms of establishing the Embassy of
Belarus in our capital city.
This noticeable
event will surely contribute to our further bilateral cooperation development
and I hope that Mongolia will be the wide open bridge to connect Belarus with
the emerging Asian market; at the same time, the Republic of Belarus will also
become for us a trustworthy bridge to the European market in the future”.
As of today,
there are 21 overseas ambassadors currently residing in Ulaanbaatar city
including the recent establishment of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in
Mongolia.
Speaker
Leaves for Dornod
Ulaanbaatar,
August 7 (MONTSAME) The Chairman of the State Great Khural (parliament)
Z.Enkhbold Thursday left for Dornod aimag in order to take part in the Eastern
Regional Assembly of the Union of Democratic Force (UDF).
To run August
8-9 near the Buir Lake in Khalkhgol soum, the assembly will bring together 500
members the UDF from Dornod, Khentii, Sukhbaatar, Gobisumber, Dornogobi aimag,
the city’s Bayangol, Bayanzurkh, Chingeltei, Khan-Uul, Bagakhangai, Baganuur
and Nalaikh districts.
With a motto
"Let’s reform our Mongolia", the UDF has elected the Parliament
Speaker as its president, whereas current Minister of Population Development
and Social Welfare S.Erdene has been elected the vice president.
The UDF
comprises politicians such as G.Bayarsaikhan, a head of the parliamentary
Standing committee on environment, food and agriculture, and D.Arvin MP.
International
Quilting Exhibition opens
August 7
(news.mn) International Quilting Exhibition in the celebration of the
10th anniversary of the Mongolian Quilting Centre will be on display on
the 2nd floor of the State Department Store on August 07-11.
The
International Quilting Exhibition is organized by the Shine zamnal NGO.
During the exhibition day event for quilting art, quilting training
courses by foreign specialists, quilting book opening, and exhibition and fair
will be held.
International
Quilting Exhibition will be presented by quilt artists from USA, Japan.
Ambassador
Bold was invited to the Rotary Club of Sydney
August 6
(Mongolian Embassy in Australia) Ambassador of Mongolia, His Excellency Mr Bold
was invited to speak at the luncheon of Rotary Club of Sydney on 5 August 2014
in Sydney. Ambassador Bold talked about Mongolia’s overview on politics,
economics, investment as well as the business cooperation opportunities for the
Australian companies and businessmen. Guests raised questions about stock
market, relations with Russia and China and people’s health situation. Around
60 guests attended the meeting.
The Rotary Club
of Sydney was the first Rotary Club in New South Wales, chartered on 7 May
1921. Recently, Rotary Club of Sydney was involved to donate 1000 blankets
in cooperation with Wrap with Love to Erdeneburen sum of Hovd province of
Mongolia. Rotary Club of Sydney meet every Tuesday at 12.30 pm for lunch,
fellowship, networking and to listen to a stellar line-up of guest speakers. In
its 90 years the Rotary Club of Sydney has raised millions of dollars for local
charities and has established what are now prominent enterprises.
Dentists
suggest Mongolians to cut sugar intake
August 6
(news.mn) 48 qualified dentists of the German Dental Association International
charity organization carried out free dental examinations on 8000 patients in
Bayankhongor aimag Mongolia. According to dental specialists 60-70 percent of
both children and adults have dental problems.
Dentists are
concerned that there are only a few children who have healthy teeth.
Sugar intake is
blamed as a major contributor to the higher dental problems. German dentists
suggest Mongolians to cut sugar intake and to focus on decreasing the
number of shops where offer wide range of sweets and confections.
Bayankhongor is
not the only place where dentist and dental equipment are needed.
Golomt
Bank Cooperates with Hungarian Export-Import Bank
August 7
(infomongolia.com) On July 31, 2014 a Medium Term Credit Facility agreement has
been concluded between Golomt Bank and Hungarian Eximbank. The financial
agreement was signed by Mrs. Luvsandorj BOLORMAA, Chief Investment Officer of
Golomt Bank and by Mr. Andras Puskas, Deputy CEO, and Mr. Zsolt Demkó-Szekeres,
Director, Trade Finance of Hungarian Eximbank in Budapest. The signing ceremony
was also attended by representatives of the Mongolian Embassy in Budapest and
the Ministry for National Economy of Hungary.
According to
the cooperation agreement signed on July 31, Hungarian Eximbank is ready to
finance investments and projects which are realized with purchasing Hungarian goods
or services. Within the framework of this agreement, the banks will support
Hungarian exports of medical equipment, environmental protection and water
treatment equipment, and agricultural machinery to Mongolia.
At the ceremony
CIO L.Bolormaa stated: "As Golomt Bank, we believe that this facility
agreement will lead to strengthening of the already existing economic
relationship of the two countries, Hungary and Mongolia. On the basis of this
agreement, Golomt will show its best effort to support companies which will
import goods and services from Hungary. Golomt is pleased to take the
opportunity to contribute to further enhance current economic relationship
between two nations".

Pay Tribute to Military Banner
Ulaanbaatar,
August 7 (MONTSAME) Mongolian troops of the 4th contingent of the Armed
Forces--to serve with the UN mandate in the United Nations Missions in Sudan
(UNMIS) operation in South Sudan--paid tribute to the Military Banner on
Thursday.
Held in the
General Headquarters of Mongolian Armed Forces (GHMAF), the ceremony was
attended by Major-General B.Bayarmagnai, a deputy head of the GHMAF;
Brigadier-General J.Badambazar, a department head of the GHMAF; authorities of
the GHMAF departments and sections and of the Defense Ministry; and family
members of the servicemen and military officers.
This time, our
850 troops will be headed by Lieutenant-Colonel M.Batchuluun. Main objective of
their service within the UNMISS is to support South Sudan in ensuring security
and peace.
Mongolia has
been participating in the UNMISS since 2012.

thousand and 271 shares of 20 JSCs were traded costing MNT 12 million 814
thousand and 200.00.

"Mongolia Development” /2,584 units/ and "Olloo” /2,113 units/ were
the most actively traded in terms of trading volume, in terms of trading
value--"Sharyn gol” (MNT one million and 865 thousand), "Mongolia
Development” (MNT one million 679 thousand and 600), "Gobi” (MNT one

Our
Players Competing in Chess Olympiad
Ulaanbaatar,
August 7 (MONTSAME) Players of the national teams for chess are taking part in
the 41st World Chess Olympiad which is running in Tromso city, Norway.
After five
games, the men team is staying on 67th place out of 177 countries after
achieving three wins and losing to France and Croatia. In the latest game, this
team defeated the Tajiki rival, where G.Monkhgal won and others had draws.
The women team
had a draw with the Vietnamese on the fifth game. So far, they have got three
wins, one loss (France) and one draw. The women are 27th out of 139 countries.
The Bermuda
Party took place Thursday on the tournament’s holiday.
Political
Consultative Meeting Held
August 5
(Ministry of Foreign Affairs) The first political consultative meeting was held
between Foreign Ministries of Mongolia and Austria in Ulaanbaatar on August 4,
2014.
The meeting discussed
a wide range issues concerning bilateral relations and cooperation,
particularly, the strengthening of economic relations and cooperation between
Mongolia and Austria, effective use of soft loan provided by Austria, mutual
visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports, and
collaboration in strengthening of Diplomat Academy at the Ministry for Foreign
Affairs of Mongolia.
The sides
shared views on international and regional issues of mutual concern and
emphasized an importance of supporting each other on international fora and
holding such meetings regularly.

becomes Mister Mongolia for the second time
August 7 (UB
Post) The 23rd Mongolian Mister Bodybuilding Championship was held on August 2,
at UB Palace. The competition was organized by the Mongolian Bodybuilding
Fitness Federation and 89 athletes from 27 organizations competed in the
championship.
Male
bodybuilders competed in five weight categories.
Athlete
Battuvshin of Golden Gym Club won the 65 kg weight class, L.Saruulbat of
Chiireg Mongol Club won the 70 kg, G.Dorj of George Gym Club won the 75 kg,
E.Ganzorig of All Masters Club, who won the previous year’s contest, seized the
gold medal again, this time in the 80 kg, and J.Nurlan of Khar Irves Club won
the 85 kg.
In the women’s
bodybuilding category, B.Enkhtsatsral won the title of Mongolian Miss.
E.Zolboo, athlete of All Master Club, won the men’s fitness category and S.Gansaruul, athlete of California Fitness Club, won the women’s fitness contest.

FDI
to Mongolia declines by 70%
August 7 (UB
Post) Mongol bank reports that as of the first half of this year, Mongolia
attracted 380.3 million USD in foreign direct investment (FDI), which is a
decrease of 70 percent, or 873.2 million USD, from the same period in 2013.
More than 205
million USD of the total FDI was additional investments made in ongoing
projects, and the rest was operational costs funded by revenue and other
investment packages. Mongol bank said it sees bright prospects for further
foreign investment.
As of the first
half of this year, outbound investment increased to 9.9 million USD, up by 1.2
million USD from figures from May. Most of the outbound investment was
additional investment. In addition, revenue derived from total investments rose
to 344.3 million USD.
