Usually 512 wrestlers compete in the State Naadam Festival and occasionally 1,024 wrestlers take part in (10 rounds), when a big event coincides in the year. A wrestler who wins the 5th round in the Naadam Wrestling Tournament becomes a "Nachin" or Falcon, the 6th - "Khartsaga" or Hawk, the 7th - "Zaan" or Elephant, the 8th - "Garid" or Garuda and the winner of the final or 9th round of the competition becomes an "Arslan" or Lion.
If the wrestler achieves two times outstanding winnings at the State Naadam Festival is earned the title of the State Giant (Giant of Nation) or "Ulsyn Avarga" (Avarga - mon. champion, giant). Also, the third time winning is granted the State Ocean Giant* or "Ulsyn Dalai Avarga", the fourth time winning becomes the State Great (Wide) Giant or "Ulsyn Dayan Avarga" and more than five times is honored as the State Grand (Undefeatable) Giant or "Ulsyn Darkhan Avarga".
* - According to new regulation effective from 2014 Naadam Festival, the title of Ocean Giant or "Dalai Avarga” is excluded from the list of State Titles, but kept as additional rank. Thus, a criteria for "Dayan Avarga" and "Darkhan Avarga" becomes shorter a one step for wrestlers.
Also, Arslan or Lion is the highest title in the Aimag Naadam and All Militants Traditional Wrestling Tournament. In Sum Naadam the highest title is Zaan or Elephant.
A State title is the highest rank, followed by Aimag, Military and Sum titles.
