Industrial
production index increased by 19.8%
July 10
(Mongolian Economy) The industrial production index increased by 19.8 percent
since the end of last year.
In addition, natural losses of adult animals
reached 300.8 thousand heads at the national level during the first half of
2014. This number is down 52.9 percent since last year. Of these losses, 17.7
thousand were horses, 27.0 thousand were cows, 913 were camels, 115.0 thousand
were sheep, and 140.2 thousand were goats.
In the mining
sector, minerals such as molybdenum concentrate, coal, iron ore, crude oil and
copper concentrate increased between 0.1 to 57.4 percent. In the manufacturing
sector, the production of products including buzz, milk, pure water, knitted
goods, wooden doors, flour, macaroni noodles, ice cream, vacuum windows and
doors, and sawn wood saw increases as well.
In terms of
transportation, railway carried 29.1 million tons of freight and 172.4 million
passengers in the first half of this year. This shows an increase of 52.6
percent for freight and a decrease of 4.9 percent for passengers. Revenue from
railway reached MNT 195.9 billion, a 2.7 percent drop.
2449 disasters
and accidents have occurred within the first half of 2014. Due to these
incidents, 62 people have died as well as 12272 livestock and animals. Of these
accidents, 2155 were construction fires, 104 were forest fires, 96 were madness
diseases among animals, 25 were flooding accidents, 17 were earthquakes, and 11
were chemical substance usages. A total of MNT 401.2 million was spent to
repair damages.

been collaborating with Mongolian National Naadam Festival Organizational
Committee as an Official Partner and had announced to present a Toyota car.
So on July 09,
2014, the Organizing Committee Secretary Yo.Gerelchuluun and General Manager of
East Asia and Oceania Division Toyota Motor Corporation, Hiroaki Awamura
reported to journalists that the winner of the State Naadam traditional
wrestling competition out of 512 wrestlers will be rewarded with brand new SUV
Toyota Land Cruiser 200.
Toyota
Corporation has been partnering for the first time with Mongolian Naadam Festival
2014 that dedicated to the 2,223rd Anniversary of the Mongolia's First
Statehood, the 808th Anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire and the 93rd
Anniversary of the People's Revolution.
Following the
statement, Secretary Yo.Gerelchuluun said, “We are aiming to celebrate the
National Naadam Festival under Mongol Brand in the world, thus, we need to have
an authorized official partner and we glad that authorities of Toyota Corporation
agreed to partner with us and providing with a Land Cruiser 200 as a top
prize”.
He further
added that the SUV will be presented with official ceremony at Chinggis Square
at 12:00 pm on July 13, 2014, where the Toyota Company will also introduce its
new models.
Special
Licenses on Extracting Common Mineral Resources to Be Allocated by Cabinet
Decision

(infomongolia.com) The regular Cabinet meeting was held on July 09, 2014, and
one of the issues resolved was releasing a specific regulation on exploration
and exploitation of common mineral resources that needed for construction of auto
road and railway projects, which considered as important for the country’s
socio-economic development.
The
authorization for exploration and exploitation of such projects and programs
will be allocated by the Cabinet decision and license owners will extract above
minerals at its own cost and it’s required to use the common mineral resources
only within the area of project and period term.
In the
frameworks to accelerate construction works being carried out nationwide,
Minister of Roads and Transportation, Minister of Mining and Governors of
Capital City and Aimags are obliged to monitor on the implementation of this
new regulation.
Winners
of 2014 National Naadam Festival's Khyazaalan Horse Racing
July 10
(infomongolia.com) Traditionally, the horse races of Mongolian National Naadam
Festival, usually organized in 6-age categories and start annually with
Khyazaalan (four-year old) and Shudlen (three-year old) horse racing
competitions on July 10th.
Today morning
(July 10, 2014), the first race of Khyazaalan took place at the Khui Doloo
Khudag valley, where 307 horses left the starting line out of 318 horses registered.
To note, from
this year’s Naadam Festival, the 7th category of a 60 km long distance horse
racing competition was officially added in the Horse Racing Program, which is considered
the longest distance.
The Khyazaalan
race for 18 km started at around 09:30 am and a “Kheer” horse came in the first
trained by a resident of Dornod Aimag, was rode by jockey B.Dembereldondov.
Moreover, Mongolians name the first five horses came in the finishing line as "Airgiin
Tav".

Celebrates Honorary Day for State Flag, July 10th

(infomongolia.com) On July 10, 2014, the President and the Commander-in-Chief
of the Armed Forces of Mongolia, Tsakhia ELBEGDORJ and other officials,
resident foreign Ambassadors and visiting high-level guests including Prime
Minister of Kyrgyzstan and Defense Minister of Qatar have attended the ceremony
of the Honorary Day for the State Flag of Mongolia.
At the
beginning of ceremony, President Ts.Elbegdorj delivered an opening remark and
the military parade dedicated to the Day and National Naadam Festival took place
at the Chinggis Square, Ulaanbaatar.
The President
issued a decree in 2011, to support people’s effort and initiative to honor the
State Flag, which is the symbol of national independence and sovereignty.
People of Mongolia have been celebrating the Honorary Day for the State Flag
since 2008 annually on the eve of the Naadam Festival.
On the same
day, celebrating the 2,223rd Anniversary of the Mongolia’s First Statehood, the
808th Anniversary of the Great Mongol Empire, the 93rd Anniversary of the
People’s Revolution and the 2014 National Naadam Festival, President of Mongolia
Ts.Elbegdorj, Speaker of the State Great Khural (Parliament) Z.Enkhbold, Prime
Minister N.Altankhuyag, Members of Parliament and Government and citizens’
representative laid wreaths to the Statue of D.Sukhbaatar and paid tribute to
the Statue of Chinggis Khaan.

(infomongolia.com) The second horse racing competition of Shudlen (three-year
old) as part of 2014 National Naadam Festival celebration took place today
after the Khyazaalan (four-year old) horse racing category at Khui Doloon
Khudag valley in Tuv Aimag on July 10, 2014.
The Shudlen
race for about 13 km brought 289 horses, where “Khul” horse came in the first
and the first five horses or "Airgiin Tav" are as following.
