SPEAKER MEETS CZECH DELEGATION OF PARLIAMENT
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Speaker of the State Great Khural (parliament) Z.Enkhbold Tuesday received a visiting delegation headed by Ms Alena Gajduskova, Vice President of the Czech parliament’s Senate.
Expressing thanks to the Czech parliamentary delegation for visiting Mongolia, the Speaker noted that developing cooperation with the European Union (EU) including the Czech Republic is one of the priorities of the Mongolian foreign policy goals, and Mongolia aspires to develop the cooperation with the Czech Republic in all spheres, considering the country as its “Third Neighbour”.
Ms Gajduskova underlined the bilateral relations and cooperation have been developing for 50 years, saying that she would be happy to hear opinions from the Speaker on ways of developing the bilateral ties.
The Speaker underlined an importance of developing the inter-parliamentary ties as the two countries have the democratic and parliamentary systems, and then proposed the Czech side to collaborate in setting up a Czech-Mongolia friendship group at the Czech parliament.
Mr Enkhbold hopes that the Czech government will render support for ratifying the Mongolia-EU partnership and cooperation agreement at the European parliament. Moreover, Mongolia wants to cooperate with the Czech Republic in the educational sector, preparing engineers for geology and roads, he said.
In turn, Gajduskova noted that the Czech-Mongolia committee works at the lower house of the Czech parliament, and added it is possible to set up such committee at the Senate. She said the Czech Senate will do all the best to ratify the Mongolia-EU partnership and cooperation agreement at the European parliament. In addition, the Czech Republic has a willingness to resume the traditional cooperation at the geological and educational sectors.
