UNWTO SECRETARY-GENERAL STARTS VISIT
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai started on Friday his official visit to Mongolia. He has been invited by L.Gansukh, the Minister of Environment and Tourism.
Mr. Rifai is to meet with the state leaders to share views on a tourism development in Mongolia and a cooperation between Mongolia and the UNWTO, to hand over to the State Head the Open Letter about a contribution of the tourism sphere to the socio-economic development, to attend a seminar on tourism marketing organized by experts from the UNWTO.
Mongolia joined the UNWTO in 1994, gained a full membership in 2011 after paying off tax debts.
The visit of Mr Rifai will continue until July 24.

Mongolia has been raising its reputation and position at international and regional arenas, and is given a chance to attract foreign investments to the sector and to intensify the external ties in tourism.
