Mongolian Students Wins Medals at the World School Chess Championships
From Mongolia, eight chess players participated in the championship and a Mongolian girl T.Monkhzul with a scores seven won the silver medal in age category-9. In the event, a chess player from Kazakhstan Assel Serikbai with 8.5 points earned gold medal.
Over 350 chess players from about 29 countries competed in age categories of 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17.
In the girls’ event: sixth place went to D.Nomin-Erdene with 6 points in the age category of 11 and 17th place to S.Jargalmaa with 4.5 points.
G.Saikhanzaya ranked 11th in the 15 year old category in the girls’ event.
In the boys’ tournament: B.Irmuuntulga finished the 12th place with 4.5 points in the age category of 7; O.Chinguun placed 9th with 6 points and N.Otgonbayar took 21st place with 4.5 points in the event of 9 year-olds.
In the 11 year old category, Ts.Bat-Erdene took the 20th place.
