Mongolia-Vietnam joint statement in defense sector
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Defense Minister of Mongolia L.Bold paid an official visit to the Social Republic of Vietnam on December 7-11, 2010 at invitation of Vietnam's Defense Minister Pheg Quang Thanh.
During the visit, Mr. Bold has laid a wreath to the Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, and then held negotiations with his counterpart Colonel-General Pheg Quang Thanh. The Mongolia's Defense Minister has been received by the Vietnam's president Nguyen Minh Triet as well.
The sides have highly spoken the Mongolia-Vietnam inter-governmental ties and the traditional friendly relations in the defense sector, and expressed satisfaction with achievements in the bilateral cooperation. The Vietnam's side has underlined an importance of the official visit of the Defense Minister of Mongolia, and considered that it could bring the bilateral ties in the defense sector into a newer level, and significantly contributed to the friendly ties between people. The Mongolian side has highly appreciated the great construction made by the Vietnamese government, people and people's armed forces and the achievements in the defense sector. Mongolia has a willingness to strengthen the bilateral collaboration in the defense sector for international and regional peace, stability, cooperation and development.
The countries have given reports on international and regional urgent problems and domestic matters. The sides have exchanged views and reached agreements on forwarding the further collaboration, paying mutual visits in all levels, cooperating in the educational sphere, sharing experiences in untraditional security, and establishing defense attache services in their countries.
In addition to it, the countries have agreed to make preparation for establishing a cooperation agreement between the Defense Ministries of the countries, and to approve it in a proper time.
The official visit of a delegation led by the Mongolia's Defense Minister L.Bold to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam has been paid successfully. Mr. Bold has thanked his counterpart of Vietnam Colonel-General Pheg Quang Thanh for warmly welcoming the Mongolian delegation.
