JOB DESCRIPTION

The Economist will be involved in the analysis, evaluation and presentation of our proprietary data in light of economic trends and movements. A large part of this role will be interfacing with Senior Management to produce and forecast annual budgets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Identifying key economic and financial issues and developing relevant analytic frameworks
Reviewing, summarizing and analyzing industry trends
Designing and building financial and quantitative models
Applying statistical and econometric methods to economic and financial data
Producing proposed budgets for each company in line with approved formats which allow easy integration into the accounting system for monthly variance analysis. To assist in identifying with management KPI drivers for each entity e.g. volume of sales, unit price achieved etc
Coding software routines to implement complex analyses
Managing analysts and junior staff
Preparing analysis for Senior Management team to have viability of reasons for major variances
Performing ad hoc analysis, forecast, investment appraisals, financial implication of proposed initiatives
Assisting Sales Director in producing performance reports by Agent, sales type, cross selling capabilities
To work as a team with the other Senior Accountants in order to ensure the smooth running of the Financial section of the group and each of its companies
Any other duties reasonably requested by the Group Chief Financial Officer

REQUIREMENTS

Proven track record of providing superior information resources and analytical work
Proactive, highly motivated, innovative detail-oriented professional with ability to analyze data and predict trends
Leadership experience in public sector financial management, budgeting, and fiscal analysis strongly preferred
Analytical and programming competence is required as well as experience working with large datasets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact with senior management
Outstanding computer skills and analytical tool usage are assumed
Ability to multi-task and handle a fast paced work environment

COMPENSATION

Compensation will include a salary in USD commensurate with experience, plus bonus. The successful candidate will be eligible for the company stock option plan after one year of service with the firm.
