Chinese Culture Month opens in Mongolia
ULAN BATOR, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese Culture Month opened Thursday at the Central Culture Palace of Mongolia, starting a series of activities to promote Chinese culture in the country.
Mongolian Culture Minister Ts.Oyungerel told the opening ceremony the culture month activities would promote cultural exchange between the two nations and offer an opportunity for more Mongolians to know Chinese traditional culture and customs.
During the month, performances by three art troupes from China's Hebei province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and a concert by Chinese pop stars will be presented to Mongolian audiences.
The culture month includes a Chinese film week, seven Chinese culture exhibitions, three forums related to media, literature and Mongolian medicine exchanges, as well as Chinese kung fu performances by monks from China's Shaolin Temple.
