Athletes and Coaches who magnificently displayed Mongolia granted
Athletes and coaches who successfully participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London were granted a reward on August 26. The Prime Minister of Mongolia, N.Altankhuyag, gave Silver Medalist in the Men’s Flyweight (52kg) of Boxing, N.Tugstsogt, 60 million MNT and bronze medalist in Men’s Lightweight (64kg) of Boxing, U.Munkh-Erdene, received 30 million MNT. Coach of the two boxers, D.Ganzorigt, was given 45 million MNT. N.Tugstsogt was unfortunately unable to attend the ceremony. S.Battsetseg, who brought the first medal in Freestyle Wrestling to our country after 32 years, was rewarded with 30 million MNT and her coach Z.Duvchin got 15 million MNT for his excellent training.
The Government of Mongolia already rewarded N.Tuvshinbayar (Judoka silver medalist) and S.Nyam-Ochir (Judoka bronze medalist) and their coaches. N.Altankhuyag stated, “Our athletes have competed in London Olympics so successfully, bringing five medals to their home country. Mongolia has been ranked 7th in the all-time rankings of Olympic medals per capita. This shows our high potential, second-to-none strength and the great intellect of Mongolians. Our Mongolian athletes have earned success at a major international event in which thousands of athletes compete. They managed their strength in harmony with their intellect.”
