Mongolian fined $4,000 for cheating at casino
A Mongolian was fined a total of $4,000 on Tuesday for cheating and attempted cheating at the Marina Bay Sands casino.
Khorloo Khaliun, 44, a director of Mongolia Ship Registry, admitted to trying to cheat a croupier at a three card poker table by intentionally placing an extra $25 chip on the 'ante column' on top of his original bet in a bid to induce her to make an additional payment of $50 chips on March 14.
He also pleaded guilty to cheating the same croupier earlier by placing at least an additional $25 chip on the 'ante column' on top of his original bet and induced her to pay him at least $25 more by way of chips.
The court heard that he placed the extra bet each time after the cards had been distributed and viewed, so as to deceive the croupier into believing that he had placed a greater stake in bets when she declared the result.
