Mongolia-Russia friendship month turns 50

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ An opening ceremony of the 50th Mongolia-Russia friendship month took place Tuesday in the UB-based Center of Russian Science and Culture (CRSC).

Present there were a delegation led by a cosmonaut Viktor Gorbatko, twice Hero of the former Soviet Union and Mongolia and head of Mongolia Friendship Society of Russia; a cosmonaut J.Gurragchaa, a Hero of the former Soviet Union and Mongolia; and V.V.Samoilenko, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Mongolia.

"Today, we are celebrating the most beautiful day. The month of our friendship has turned 50 years. Our nations have built a new life together and worked together for having our children study at schools and for improving national health. So the most important factor of the mutually beneficial collaboration between Mongolia and Russia is inter-citizen ties and relations in culture and traditional customs," said Samoilenko.

The Mongolian first cosmonaut J.Gurragchaa has noted that the Mongolia-Russia Friendship Society has made steps for forwarding the cooperation between the countries.

In frames of the event, a concert has been given by Mongolian and Russian artists, besides, many other actions are expected, for example, scholars of the two countries will sign a memorandum on scientific collaboration, a training for Russian language teachers, Russian film days, an exhibition of a Russian painter V.Torkhov, and photo exhibition will be organized.
