Mongolian President Underscores Iran's Int'l, Regional Importance
TEHRAN (FNA)- Mongolian President Tsakhia Elbegdorj in a meeting with Iranian accredited Ambassador to Ulaanbaatar Mehdi Safari pointed to the significant role played by Iran on the international and regional scenes, and underlined his country's readiness to expand ties with Tehran.
During the meeting, Elbegdorj called Iran an important country in the region and world and expressed his country's readiness to expand ties with Iran.
Diplomatic relations between Tehran and Ulan Bator was established in 1970 and since year 2001, Iran's ambassador to China has been accredited ambassador to Mongolia, too.
Safari, Iran's ambassador to China and accredited ambassador to Mongolia, for his part, conveyed warm greetings of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to his counterpart, and expressed the hope that he would be able to take positive steps toward developing bilateral relations.
