Mongolia aims to have logistic center

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ On Wednesday, the cabinet meeting backed in principle a draft financing agreement to be established between the government of Mongolia and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for a project on developing a regional logistic center. The issue of financing the agreement will be consulted with a related Standing committee.

In order to implement the project, the ADB plans to grant Mongolia a soft loan of USD 40 million and a non-refundable aid of USD five million. In frames of the project, services of multimodal freight transport, logistics, multimodal transportation terminal will be created at the border checkpoint of Zamyn-Uud with a purpose to regulate/reduce a loading of freight.

The project will be realized by the Ministry of Road, Transportation, Construction and Urban Development for three years starting from 2011.
