Digital radio, television broadcasting to be introduced
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Pursuant to the cabinet's program for 2008-2012 on transferring radio and television broadcasting into a digital technology and creating proper conditions for airing TV channels nationwide, the cabinet has made a decision to implement a related national program and considered as necessary to ensure a preparation for the national program until July 31 of 2014.
The national program will be realized from this year to 2015 to transfer the broadcasting into the digital technology in several stages and to prepare a digital radio and television broadcasting service. It is expected that TV and radio channels will be increased as well as new kinds of services in information and communication will be introduced when the program is implemented.
A MNT 47.4 billion will be collected from the state budget, foreign assistance, loans and non-refundable aid, investments of private sector and the financing of the Regulatory Committee for Communication.
