Road easing traffic levels finally opens

Last Thursday the 2.5 km road from 120 Myangat to Narnii road has opened. Construction of this road began last year and ended by the construction of the railway barrier. The Railway Authority and the Dunjingarav Company worked together to build the crossing road between a railroad and the 0.5 km road with their own finances. The City Council named the road “The Capital’s Wide Open Way.” With the opening of the new road, a new bus route, M:55 is opening to Bayan Mongol Town. Four buses will operate on intervals of 10 minutes and Dunjingarav Shopping Centre and a new set of apartments will be built along this road.

The Prime Minister S.Batbold, General Manager of Ulaanbaatar City Ch.Bat, Head of City Road Authority D.Od and the Deputy Head of Railway Authority L.Purevbaatar attended the opening. Prime Minister S.Batbold stated, “Two kilometres is not a big number, but the road itself has great significance. This road is placed at a traffic pressure point which means it will untangle the city traffic by a considerable portion. The estimation is 30% and when the Narnii Bridge opens the city traffic will be greatly reduced.”

The road was opened before the national Naadam Festival strategically to reduce traffic during the event. The Peace Bridge and Gandig’s road will be stressed with traffic blocks during Naadam. Cars with permits will be able to use the new road to get the Central Stadium without any hindrance. Though the constructions are complete, lighting and sign post setting is still being done.
