Government Cabinet meeting will be hold in desert
The Government of Moldavia held an underwater meeting last year to draw international attention to climate change. Like this, President Ts. Elbegdorj announced at Copenhagen Conference that the Government Cabinet of Mongolia will hold a meeting in the desert in order to draw international attention to desertification. Accordingly, the Office of the Government had been preparing for Cabinet meeting in Omnogobi. However, the meeting has been delayed until September.
This is because the Government is aiming to get proposal for TT development approved by Parliament before spring session adjourns. The Government’s proposal for TT development, which is expected to produce about 6.4 billion tons of coal during its lifetime, is scheduled for parliamentary hearing before the end of June, 2010. In addition, the Government hopes to discuss the implementation of OT project during its meeting in September.
